It is estimated that the graduates that are working as interns in several companies have been working as soon as they left the universities. It will issue guidance to employers when they are legally supposed to offer a national minimum wage to their interns. It is also estimated that the cost of working as an unpaid intern is more than £1,000 and £820 a month in London and Manchester respectively.

The government is determined to ensure that all internships are paid and for that, they have made the laws stringent. The business minister, Andrew Griffiths believes that no one should like they have to work for free to get the skills and experience they need to get ahead with their career. According to the legalization, anyone with the designation of a worker in an official employment has to be paid. The campaigners have requested the government to make it easier for the employers and the staff to identify their roles.
Sir Peter Lampl, the founder and chairman of the Sutton Trust mentioned that many employers are sometimes unaware that they are supposed to pay their interns while some of them chose to use the lack of clarity in the laws to avoid paying the interns.
It seems that the law does has a few loopholes that can be used by some of the employers to work around and dodge the rule of paying their interns and because of the same thing, there is a possibility that the government might revise their laws and make them easier to understand and follow by the employers as well as the interns. The laws are being made stringent and necessary actions are taken against those who break the laws but the government will also have to find the solution to fill in the loopholes that can be used.
